A. This is an unfinished version of Erik in The Disguise without his false nose. I couldn't resist drawing it, even though it doesn't show in the finished piece. I also think it's interesting to compare to the disguised version. The Daroga's right. The nose or lack thereof really makes a difference.
B. And, well, I confess. Ever since the first time I read the passage quoted in The Disguise, this image sort of popped into my mind. I mean, how could it not? And since I was on the theme, I threw it in there too. Actually, I think the look is pretty effective. If only Groucho Marx had been born a few decades earlier, a tragedy could have been prevented!
Is it just me, or does the "disguised" Erik kind of resemble Gandhi? I really like this though, gives us a pretty good idea of what the Persian meant when he said that he was "almost bearable to look at".
I thought of this, too, when I read it. ;; I'm so glad someone thought to draw it, lol! and an excellent job you did of it, too. On this AND the actual disguise.
